I like my CZ’s as much as the next guy (unless that guy is Angus Hobdell). I’m completely happy with my P07 and think my CZ75 is great shooter that needs a too much love. At just over $400 retail, though, the P07 is one of the best values in guns out there right now, keeping pace with the XD’s, M+P’s and Glocks in the features department but costing a hundred dollars less.
This, on the other hand, is a bit over the top.
The CZ P-07 Duty in .40 S&W is at least a 9.5 on the coolness scale, and the features that make it so good looking are as much as you can expect from a gun you intend to vest your life in.
Now, despite a background in the visual arts a decent sense of design, I have no idea what makes a “good looking gun”, and quite frankly, I don’t care. It’s like asking “what’s a good-looking belt sander”: I’m more interested in what a gun does than how it looks, so whether or not the P07 (or any other pistol) is “good looking” doesn’t matter one whit to me. When it comes to pistols, at least, function trumps form.
And does the P07 function?
So far, at about 600 or so rounds through it, I’ve had one hiccup; a failure to eject at about 400 rounds and no cleaning. I won’t say one way or another on the gun until I top at least 2000 round through it, but the P07 is rapidly turning into my favourite pistol.
