If we as a gun culture rightfully laugh at those who rely on an inanimate object to keep them safe, like a piece of paper in a window that says “no guns allowed”, what are we to do with people who think that an inaminate object that they’ve never used will keep them safe, namely a locked, unloaded gun in it’s case under the bed or in the closet? 

Seems to me both are equally silly. However, one has the potential to be less silly with a little help and guidance.
