“We no longer accept ads showing semi-automatic weapons and guns pointed at people,” Time Warner Cable said in a statement. “We stand by this policy. If it’s essential to a business owner to show this kind of imagery in their commercials, there are other advertising options in the marketplace.”
Now I’ll admit that since I dropped Cable TV, it’s been a long time since I watched The Outdoor Channel or ANY gun-related shows, but I recall that Smith And Wesson, et al, had a big presence on the shooting channels. If they can’t run ads on Time-Warner that show semi-autos, that is a BIG chunk of their revenue gone bye-bye.
