Get Back Into The Fight

It’s no coincidence that Americans attitudes of guns changed for the better while Top Shot, Duck Dynasty and other gun-related shows were on the air. Those programs showed gun ownership as safe, fun and above all, normal.

Gun owners know how to fight and occasionally win political battles. Where we suck and are losing is fighting cultural battles, and no, putting on yet another country music show is NOT going to move the needle in our favor. We need to find allies to our cause, not create an echo chamber. The NRA is useful for keeping the faithful inline and celebrating gun culture, but because of the negative press it’s getting right now, it is a toxic brand outside of the world of gun owners.

There’s a few easy wins we can pick up here: The tagline of this blog is “Guns are the new Harley Davidson,” so reaching out to motorcycle riders and tying the freedom of the open road to the empowerment of safe gun ownership is an obvious win. Another quick win that seems obvious to me is using the trust icon of the military to promote competitive shooting to video game players, which would be a win-win for the military’s recruiting efforts and practical shooting.

  1. On March 5, 2018 anti-gun extremist “Guns Down” co-founder Mark Glaze was a guest on Tucker Carlson and stated the following in regards to the Adam Lanza shooting at Sandy Hook: “There was armed security at the school and they failed to stop Lanza.” This is a blatant lie. There was NO armed security at Sandy Hook Elementary. Lanza shot out the plate glass doors to gain entry because the doors were locked.

    The anti-gun extremists ALWAYS lie! People must keep asking self-serving low-life ambulance chasers like Mark Glaze WHO is funding the anti-gun “Guns Down” gun-control gun confiscation group. Glaze also stated that he wanted to “ban civilian use of ‘assault rifles’”.

    The reason the anti-gun groups have been somewhat quiet (RE Vegas, TX Church etc) is that they were waiting for a bunch of dead kids to use to be able to manipulate that raw outrage and emotion that could be whipped up into an anti-gun frenzy. Sadly the anti-gun groups are ALWAYS scheming and calculating their next big anti-gun push.

    NEWS FLASH – The government does not exist to keep people safe. As we have seen recently they even fail miserably at that task. Legitimate governments exist solely to protect the rights of their citizens. The vast majority of politicians only say what they think will get them into office. Once elected, they use their elected positions as a cash cow or as a future ATM when they get private sector jobs. It unfortunately falls on the governed to continuously fight for our civil rights and civil liberties or they will simply evaporate into thin air. This includes The Second Amendment Right to keep and bear arms.

    800,000 Americans die EVERY year from heart disease. Maybe we should require universal background checks for food purchases. Or perhaps require universal background checks for food purchases by fat people.

    “The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”

    Dictionary definition of infringe:
    To break off, impair, break, violate; To break (a law or agreement.);
    Following that logic ANY laws which impair (weaken, hinder, prevent or delay) in any way, an American’s right to acquire, possess or own any type of arms (including firearms) clearly violates the United States Constitution. Period.

    There are NO clauses in the United States Constitution stating if public opinion polls are taken that the opinion of those polled trumps any laws or any part of the United States Constitution or amendments thereof.

    Freedom suppressed and regained bites with keener fangs than freedom never endangered

    “Laws that forbid the carrying of arms… disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes… Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.” –Thomas Jefferson

    Remember: British attempts at gun-control and firearms and ammunition confiscation started the American Revolution. It was not about tea.

    “Those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it.” –Edmund Burke

    “What is ominous is the ease with which some people go from saying that they don’t like something to saying that the government should forbid it. When you go down that road, don’t expect freedom to survive very long.” –Thomas Sowell
